Despite gloomy media predictions, this was the best set of public A Level examinations in the School’s history. Students, along with their parents and teachers, enjoyed celebrating their success over a delicious prosecco brunch in the Atrium Cafe. Many congratulations to all the students, whether you achieved the top grades or not, after a very challenging couple of years. Every one of you deserves to be applauded for your grit, determination and hard work.
Here are some of the ‘best bits’:
70% A* to A grades
38% of students awarded all A* or As
Every student who applied to Oxbridge achieved or exceeded their offer
Big wins for Computer Science, Art & Design, Languages and PE with 100% of results A* or A
100% SUCCESS FOR OXBRIDGE APPLICANTS
95% OF STUDENTS ARE GOING TO UNIVERSITY
89% OF STUDENTS WERE PLACED AT THEIR FIRST CHOICES
EXTRAORDINARY MATHS, SCIENCES AND STEM SUCCESSES
These impressive results are testament to the excellent teaching resources our hard-working staff put in place during the pandemic, and to the determination and resilience of the students themselves. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.
Following an outstanding set of A Level results, this year’s GCSE results have also been the best in the School’s history:
· 44% Grade 9,
· 87% Grade 9-7
· 30% of students achieved all Grade 9 and 8
· Over half achieved all Grade 9-7
And focusing on the 9s, 9 students – or 9% - achieved Grade 9 across the board.
We are thrilled that our results in STEM subjects continue to go from strength to strength, with 84% achieving all Grade 9 or 8 in Physics; 77% in Chemistry and 76% in Maths. However, with 86% achieving Grade 9 or 8 in English Language, 79% in English Literature and 78% in Geography, students also performed extremely well in Arts and Humanities.
