Congratulations to SWPS alumna Sophie Bartrop for her remarkable achievement in showcasing her exquisite jewellery designs at the prestigious London graduate design show, New Designers. This event marks a significant milestone in every design student's journey, offering a platform to display their creative prowess to industry professionals and the public alike.

It's worth noting that Sophie isn't the first SWPS talent to grace this esteemed event. Miss Blackman, our esteemed Head of Design Technology, also exhibited her work there back in 2009.

Sophie's journey to success began at SWPS, where she excelled in A Level Product Design. Her talent caught the eye of renowned jewellery designer Theo Fennell during a masterclass at SWPS in 2019, leading to a coveted work experience opportunity with the designer.

Building on this strong foundation, Sophie pursued her passion at De Montfort University, focusing on Design Crafts. She specialised in the intricate arts of glass and silversmithing, further honing her skills during an enriching year abroad at Michigan University.

Sophie continues to refine her craft at the Bishopsland Educational Trust, an internationally recognised and accredited charity. This institution is dedicated to the training and education of young people in the time-honoured craft of silversmithing in the United Kingdom, providing Sophie with an ideal environment to further develop her expertise.
