We were honoured to welcome back former teacher Rebecca Rowe as the keynote speaker at our recent Sports Awards evening.

Rebecca’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. A multi-sport international athlete, she has represented her country in rowing, rugby, swimming, and surf lifesaving - breaking records and stereotypes along the way. From the Rugby World Cup and Six Nations to world championship podiums, Rebecca has never let boundaries define her path.

After a serious knee injury ended her elite sports career, she didn’t stop - she pivoted. At 37, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter, proving it’s never too late to chase bold new goals. Most recently, she completed a groundbreaking expedition to the South Pole, pioneering a new route - an incredible feat documented in the film Fire & Ice: The Antarctic Fire Angels aired on ITV Wales and ITVX earlier this year.

Now a sought-after motivational speaker, Rebecca inspires audiences nationwide with her story of resilience, reinvention, and courage in male-dominated fields.

Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing your journey and inspiring the next generation to dream big and break limits.
